How much time should I expect things to take?
Every draft and every student is different, so it’s hard to give definitive estimates, but here are some guidelines.
- An early draft of a big essay or a resume could take up to an hour for the coach to review.
- A later draft of a simpler essay or a much-revised resume (following our Badass Resume Protocol guidance) could take as little as 20 minutes.
- Conversations can range from 15 minutes (e.g., validating recommender choice or tweaking one bullet) to two hours (e.g., what we recommend for HBS interview prep, including a full hour for the coach to prepare).
Any time a coach is engaged on your file, we’ll keep track of time, and we’ll aim to pack as much value into the time as we can.
I’m in! How can I get started?
The first step is to pick your path: Ride Along or High Leverage Mode.
Ride Along Mode
You’ll book time directly on your coach’s calendar and the whole hour will go down in a recorded zoom that will be shared with you.
High Leverage Mode
You’ll pay for an hour, send any documents you want reviewed to your coach, and then they will send them back to you with detailed written feedback and schedule a recorded zoom call to debrief if time permits.
Best choice if:
- You want to benefit from ALL the wisdom your coach has to share, even if there might be some silences while you wait for them to read and process a document
- You’re preparing for a blind MBA interview
- Any time true back and forth dialogue is required (discovery, brainstorming, storyboarding)
Best choice if:
- You want to leverage your coach’s wisdom, but don’t have time to get on a call (documents arrive back in your inbox like magic!)
- You are planning to work on multiple documents (3+) with your coach, and want the most efficient approach
- You know you want to purchase 2 or more Power Hours and want the coach to help with multiple things at once or in a row
What if I’m not sure which one I should choose?
Start with a Ride Along hour and then chat with your coach
about the best way to proceed for any additional Power Hours.
Still have questions?
Have fun and enjoy – we’re here with you all the way!!!
